Ford Tempo Complete Engines

When your car engine isnt running properly, you might not want to drive for fear it will quit on you. In a world where travel is mainly by road, its important to have a working vehicle. If you get a new or used Ford Tempo complete engine, it can help you get your Tempo running again.

Typically, Ford Tempo options, like those for most cars and trucks, come in one of two varieties: short block and long block. These designations are not related to the size of the block but are used to indicate how complete the engine is. The terms are used for blocks for Ford and other automotive manufacturers like Chevrolet, Honda, Toyota, and others.

• Short Block: This indicates a less complete model for your Ford Tempo. Short blocks will generally include the block, pistons, connecting rods, bearings, front cover, and, potentially, a timing component set.
• Long Block: This indicates a complete model for your Ford Tempo. Long blocks will usually include all the pieces of the short block along with cylinder heads. They may also include additional components for your Ford, such as intake and exhaust manifolds, oil and water pumps, a harmonic balancer, oil pan, etc.

A Ford Tempo long block and short block assembly may come in one of several different types. These include the following.

• New: Just like a new vehicle, this is one that has never been installed or driven.
• Used: Just like a used vehicle, this is one that has been installed and driven previously.
• Refurbished or remanufactured: This is one that has been previously installed in a vehicle but has undergone extensive repair and restoration to bring it back to a like-new condition.

Options are available for all Ford Tempo years and trim levels. Ford produced and sold the Tempo from the year 1984 to 1994 in both sedan and coupe models. There were a variety of trim styles offered for the Tempo, including the L, GL, LX, GLX, AWD, GLS, and Sport GL. These Ford cars also came with either a manual or automatic transmission. All Ford Tempos were originally sold as gasoline-powered Ford vehicles.
