Allis-Chalmers was a manufacturer of a large variety of farm machinery including tractors, balers, lawn and outdoor machinery including ATVs, up until the closure of the manufacturing part of the business in 1999. If you are an owner of an Allis Tractor Model or another piece of farm equipment, you can still find companies that sell parts to keep it running.

The manufacturer introduced the Allis-Chalmers Tractors Model WD in 1948. It introduced an innovative 2-clutch system and power-adjusted rear wheels. This became an industry standard and allowed Allis to sell approximately 150,000 units before the company introduced the WD-45 in 1953. This new model had double the horsepower of the previous model and also came with a diesel motor which was another innovation.

In the 1960s and 1970s the company made amphibious all-terrain vehicles that had six wheels known as the Terra Tiger. Around that same time the company also produced golf carts as well as a submersible, that were fueled by alkaline fuel cells which obtained their energy from hydrogen.

There are many Allis-Chalmers manufactured farm tractors and other equipment types still in operation. In order to combat natural wear-and-tear or to restore antiques to original condition, it is necessary to replace parts that wear out. A surviving subsidiary called AGCO may sell or manufacture and distribute replacement parts which can help with your repair project. AGCO produces replacement parts for:

Allis-Chalmers manufactured heavy tractor equipment modified for World War II usage. They created models designed for cross-country travel, pulling heavy loads, pulling artillery, and material handling. During this time period, the tractors did not have rubber wheels but instead used a continuous track similar to a tank. Allis-Chalmers made high-speed tractors that were designed to move ammunition quickly from one place to another.
